How do you know if you have mold?

Florida is one of the most common states to have mold. The climate we live in is hot, humid, and rain abundant, creating the perfect environment for mold to thrive. Under the right conditions, mold can begin to grow in a mere 8 hours. If you’ve had any type of leak, be it from a pipe, faucet, or roof, you’re very likely to have mold.

You believe you have mold, now what? You give us a call. It’s imperative to begin the process as soon as possible. Most of the time you’ll pay nothing out of pocket with insurance. We’ll conduct a free inspection, and if we believe there is mold, recommend a third party assessment of your property. The assessor will conduct several air tests in the suspected area, and establish whether you indeed have mold there or not. Once the test comes back positive, we schedule a time and begin working. Anything that is infected with mold will go through remediation protocols. Your space will be dried out, cleaned, and air filtered. Anything infected with mold, whether it’s a cabinet or drywall needs to be removed. Once we completely remediate the area, the assessor will once again perform their test. When the test results come back, it will show a clean scope ensuring the mold is properly removed.

What’s next? Your mold is gone, but you’ll still need to hire a handyman or contractor to replace anything that was removed. If it’s a kitchen and you haven’t started looking at new cabinets, start! You’ll be enjoying an updated look in no time.
